Consumers Look for Labels That Matter
Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI) Audit
SFI provides a standard for our suppliers based on principles that promote sustainable forest management, including measures to protect water quality, biodiversity, wildlife habitat, species at risk, and forests with exceptional conservation value.
The SFI initiative was developed to reflect management practices designed to ensure the future health and growth of forests. The SFI label on Burd and Fletcher products is a sign that we are buying wood and paper products from a responsible source, backed by a rigorous, third-party certification audit.
Chain of Custody Certification
As a manufacturer of paperboard-based products, we realize how imperative it is that we are sourcing our materials from companies with responsible and sustainable forest management practices. Because of this commitment to sustainability, Burd and Fletcher has achieved Chain of Custody certification from the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), which proves that our packaging is made from SFI certified materials. SFI is a fully independent organization dedicated to promoting sustainable forest management.
“Consumers believe it is important or essential to have eco-labels that describe the environmental impacts caused by the manufacture, use and disposal of products. SFI had the highest rating of familiarity of any forest certification program out of 10 eco-labels tested.”
